Again we were searching... Searching for a router that was small, light weight and strong. It needed to have an adjustible, coolant through spindle for working sinks, it needed to float lightly on a protective barrier of water, and an adjustible speed motor for getting from high grinding speed to nice and slow polishing speeds. Again we could not find one on the market that stood up to our strong sense of duty to provide the best tools and service to our customers. And so we went ahead and built the Red Ripper Jr. with as much, or more, industrial strength and reliability as our other offerings to the stone industry.
On the left side you can see the float conrol valve, external waterfeed, and the easy access spindle rotation lock on top of the spindle.
From the back you can see the replaceable variable speed Makita grinder motor, the water quick-disconnect, and the coolent-through spindle feed.
On the bottom you can see our smooth, soft grit-repelling rubber surface for hydrofloating the router. Smooth rubber with felt is much preferable to "ball" type router bases because the plastic balls catch the hard granite grit in them and then proceed to grind that grit across the surface of your stone. Our rubber with felt is of a calculated softness to resist holding on to the grit while the constant water flow flushes grit from getting cought underneath the router. Our single water hole allows you to navigate even on the 3 inch wide strip of stone between the sink and the edge. We precisely calculated the position of the hole to be in the balance point of the router for easy floating.
Also notice the standard 7/8 inch boss for mounting standard stone router bits. This little router will even swing a 4cm (1.5 inch) full-bullnose bit without a problem!
For sink holes notice the unique template guide at the bottom of the spindle. This guide doesn't rotate with the bit so you never have to worry about the guide eating your templates!
